Cranberry Delight - The Perfect Holiday Centerpiece

This centerpiece is called "Cranberry Delight."

I recruited my sister Jennifer Youngblood, author and interior design consultant, to create some easy-to-do centerpieces that add that fabulous touch to the holiday table. This is one of my favorites. I love how she incorporated real cranberries, floating in water. A floating candle adds a touch of elegance. Jennifer likes bringing the natural indoors. The greenery is made from fresh, pine garland (it smells heavenly), and she adds red berries, pine cones, and festive ribbon for the crowning touch.

I'm a southern girl!

I’m a southern girl and proud of it! Anyone who knows anything about the South knows that every meal is a celebration—an extension of who we are. We southerners never do anything half-hearted but prefer to jump in all the way.  People often ask me how it is that I learned to cook, and I tell them that I’ve been cooking since the time I could walk. Growing up in the South and being surrounded by the best cooks in the world, it came as easy to me as breathing. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than whipping up a home-cooked meal and then watching others enjoy it.

You’re probably thinking by now that if our everyday meals are that important, you can only imagine the preparation that must go into a holiday meal. Quite true! But I’ve learned over the years that there are ways to simplify the process without losing anything in the end result. In my latest book, COOKING YOUR SASS OFF HOLIDAY STYLE, I share valuable tips, so that you don’t have to spend years learning them like I had to.

The recipes I’ve selected for my holiday guide are treasured ones that have been in my family ever since I was a little girl, some of them for generations. I’ve spent a lifetime perfecting these recipes, so you can rest assured that they’ll turn out perfect—time and time again.

Cooking has brought me much joy, and I’m thrilled to be able to share my treasured recipes with you, particularly during this holiday season.

From my heart to yours,

Page Hopkins
